In keeping with PDM's mission of educating activists, we're posting some helpful documents and videos on the current economic crisis.
The Political Economy Research Institute at University of Massachusetts Amherst (PERI) met on 11/21/08 to discuss macroeconomic and financial policies for economic revival that can solve the short-term crisis we face and help put the economy on an environmentally sustainable path of widely shared prosperity. We have three reports from that meeting:
Principles for Economic Recovery & Financial Reconstruction, a statement of principles for economic recovery and financial reconstruction, signed by many of the participants at the PERI meeting.
A Progressive Program for Economic Recovery & Financial Reconstruction, a detailed program.
How Infrastructure Investments Support the U.S. Economy discusses the importance of investing in our infrastructure to support and boost the U.S. Economy.
We've also selected two videos, and a link to a new .gov site for tracking how the stimulus money will be spent. A more detailed description is here.
