Facts at at Glance
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act & Massacutsetts. A MassBudget report
February 13, 2009
The American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act includes significant federal funding
for state health care, education, and other services.
This funding will allow states including
Massachusetts to reduce significantly the size of
budget cuts that would otherwise have been enacted.
The Governor's budget proposal had already
anticipated significant funding from this law and
reduced cuts accordingly. The final Act provides more
funding to Massachusetts than the Governor's budget
had counted on.
Facts at a Glance: The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act & Massachusetts, examines how the law will impact Massachusetts and describes the amount of funding Massachusetts is likely to receive from the major state fiscal relief provisions.
