- Adium
- Chat software for Mac OS. Works with Yahoo, AOL, Google and Facebook. If you've friended other Dems in Facebook, this can help you reach them.
- Pidgin
- Chat software for Windows. Works with Yahoo, AOL, Google and Facebook. (Needs a plug-in for Facebook). If you've friended other Dems in Facebook, this can help you reach them.
- Pidgin Facebook plug-in
- This plug-in for Pidgin allows you to chat with Facebook users without having your browser on the Facebook page.
- Gimp
- GIMP is an image editing program that supports advanced features like layers, paths and plug-ins to simplify effects like transforming to a water paint or cartoon, adding drop shadows, or creating animated GIFs. If you just want to resize and crop and image, this is overkill. This can edit Photoshop files.
- IrfanView
- IrfanView is a small and easy Windows program for viewing, resizing and cropping images.
- Inkscape
- Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X, using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format.
